Pilates as an exercise is for the mind and body, helping you achieve a strong core, develop longer, leaner muscles and improve your overall sense of wellbeing. Pilates students here at the centre will benefit from small groups allowing more individual attention to students own needs. Gentle, introductory BEGINNERS classes on demand – ideal for those with less than severe physical difficulties, the older student or those unused to exercising. Sessions build up to more energising exercise or remain gentle and restorative depending on the ability and needs of beginning students. For those already familiar with Pilates, there are different levels of classes running at the centre - from sessions offering a gentle or a more general level of exercise, to more invigorating classes requiring a higher level of fitness and expertise in Pilates.
Penny Fairclough is a matwork accredited member of the Pilates Foundation and studio accredited by Polestar Pilates.
This Hatha Yoga class draws upon the teachings of the Inner Yoga Trust and Vanda Scaravelli, exploring how we might move from the core of our being.
The benefits from a regular yoga practise are more energy as tensions are released from our body, giving us a suppleness and fluidity to our movement. Learning to listen to our body and our breath can bring more awareness, calming the mind and leading to a heightened sense of relaxation, wellbeing and balance.
Penny Fairclough has been practising yoga since 1989, exploring many styles. She is influenced by the teachings of Jenny Beeken of the Inner Yoga Trust and Scaravelli yoga. She started trained with the Inner Yoga Trust in 2007 and is a British Wheel of Yoga teacher. |
